Hipsters Watching an Eclipse (Photo Gallery)

August 21, 2017.

People of all colors and creeds came together to watch a celestial event that caused everyone to stop thinking about how the world is spiraling out of control and focus on the star that gave us life.

I headed over to Transmitter Park in Greenpoint, Brooklyn to view the Eclipse and stumbled upon a gathering of hipsters who were trying their hardest to see who could care the most about the event.

Greenpoint is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Brooklyn and this was on a Monday afternoon.

I don’t usually pay attention to hipsters when I see them because they all look the same to me–that’s what happens when someone attempts to stand out so much.

For the first time, I focused the Camera on them and captured rare moments when hipsters allowed themselves to have fun.

You can see in the Gallery that many of them brought their own unique viewing device (usually in the form of an organic cereal box), and dressed up in their finest uniforms.

The shots are strangely captivating–make sure you pay attention to the details.

I was laughing the entire time editing them.

Enjoy.

    • That’s what makes this even funnier.

It really wasn’t all that great. Just a sliver of the moon passing in front of the Sun. The light shifted slightly at max coverage, but only if you were paying very close attention.

Everyone was trying so hard to make it a really big deal, it was a hoot to be there.

  1. Nice photos. If you didn’t know what was going on here and you looked at these, you would probably be confused or just assume they are all just on drugs.

  2. I’m just about finished with my sublet up by Columbia on 110th and have been trying to figure out where to sign a year lease. The other day I figured I should check out Williamsburg and see what it would be like to live there….

Girls were good for the most part, aside from some with bad tattoos. The guys on the other hand… I could literally see how low their testosterone levels were.

Comments are on now...go right ahead.
