Girls on Phones (a NYC Photo Story)

I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking in this post.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of photography is that you can pick a theme for the day and run with it. This makes things more interesting and gives you a ‘job’ to do so you aren’t walking around aimlessly.

Girls love their goddamn cellphones, and its cute to watch them interact seriously and make ridiculous faces into them from one moment to the next.

Check out the look dad is giving me during the shoot. He knew exactly what I was up to.

Taking pictures of people in public is a great exercise in frame control and not giving a fuck about what others are thinking about you. It took a while for me to get comfortable doing it, but my not-give-a-fuck meter is off the charts at this point.

Add just a dash of sociopathy and you have what it takes to be a successful photographer.

Yes, the elf is alive.

Fuckin’ love this little weirdo.

Time and time again, I’m proved right when I say that the prettiest girls of the day are always the most pleasant.

She was even better looking up close, a rare true beauty, and after a lovely conversation about living in the moment, we made plans to go out.

Also plans to go out. Very fun girl who has her shit together.

These are the looks girls give you when I’m your wing for the day.

Ok girls, now go dance in that fountain for me:

Dancing in Fountain

I’d suggest that everyone pick up the versatile hobby of photography. It develops your personality and opens up a large part of the world that you may have missed before.

I detail exactly how to get started, what equipment you should use, developing your eye, and how to get comfortable approaching and shooting people in public in An Introduction to Camera Game. Check it out.

The book is about becoming an artist who is moved by the beauty of the female form. Girls just happen to be attracted to artists and the whole validation experience of being in front of the lens.

Banging girls is just an outcome of self-improvement from developing as an artist.

And if you are interested in coaching, which usually ends up in a wild ride that includes tons of girls, booze, and parties around New York City, be sure to request it soon.

Autumn is the best time of year to be in New York, I’ll be around for a while.

*To those asking about what gear I use, read about it in this post.

About Goldmund

Goldmund grew up a wild-child and was constantly being disciplined. Using ancient rituals and game, he broke free from the shackles of his mind and the norms of this backwards society. He frequents bars in Brooklyn, mountains in Mexico, and retreats to the desert. His passions are nature and women.

  1. Girls love their phones more than they do guys. Smartphones killed socializing and the bars. Girls can’t go to a bar now without uploading pictures immediately to their Facebooks so they can get likes. They no longer need validation from you, a scary stranger, when they can get all the validation they want from their safe Facebook friends.

    • Some of them, yeah…but there are still a bunch of decent ones out there who realize that there is a big addiction problem and attempt to curb their use.

This is one of the ways I screen girls out. I’ll have the conversation very soon after meeting them and see if they admit that phones are a distraction and take away more than they add to life.

Their response is a good indicator of if I would ever want to see them again.

    very true.

beautiful girls, awesome photos my man.

    • Thanks riv,

From the first day of practicing street photography I noticed my confidence shoot through the roof.

Even now, after the first few approaches of the day I can feel a megadose of energy.

It really is a great psychological exercise.

  3. Dude, girls aside do you prefer candid photography or street portraits more?

I have always preferred candid shots as I love capturing authentic moments and when you get it at the right time, it’s like winning the lottery but obviously street portraits is the way to go to meet beautiful women.

I’ve been into street photography for years but never really got into street portraits. For some reason, it never occurred to me to use it as a way to meet the ladies until I read your blog…… I know!!

Anyway man, I bought the camera game book and am ploughing through it now.

Quick question, do you find its principles are just as effective with Mexican girls? I live in Colombia and the women here are less likely to open up to strangers in general. Due to the history of crime, people here just don’t trust anyone on the street as a rule of thumb. It definitely can be done and One night stands aren’t uncommon but certainly not on the level as it is in the west.

    Cheers man.

    • During the day in Mexico I had a LOT of resistance to doing the portraits.

If I was to do it in a more reserved country during the day, it would be in a very touristy area with a lot of traffic.

At night, it was a different story. I stuck to major streets and clubs where people were being social and it was easy to approach and explain the project.

Whatever spots you can find where people have their guard down would be the best.

Even here in New York, I stick to places that have a more social atmosphere.
