The stimulation of a new environment can inspire you to reach new heights.
This has been especially true in my life and most of my growth has come from time spent traveling and adapting to new situations.
I’ve spent this past week in Los Angeles/Joshua Tree and every where I go people are responding to my energy.
This is not always the case back home. I fit in–as hard as it seems to fit in over there–my flow is congruent with Brooklyn. Here I’m standing out.
I’m using it to full advantage and the past two days ended up being something special.
*I’ll describe my time partying like a true rockstar with Christian McQueen in a later post…the combination of our personalities during a night out results in something nuclear and there is more to come*
I left for Joshua Tree early Monday morning and arrived just in time to take a hike around, find a place to camp, and sleep under the billion star sky.
Waking up early in the desert made my mind clear (I decided not to take mushrooms because of the epic weekend with McQueen seriously had my energy buzzing like a jet engine) and I immediately hiked up to the highest point in the park.
After meditating on top of Mt. Ryan for an hour, I went back down to the valley, left the trails and just wandered around the backcountry all day.
No food with me, I had fasted the day before, just a lot of water and an empty head.
The desert balanced out the crazy head-spinning McQueen weekend and filled me up with something else that only Mother Nature can provide.
That evening, after some fresh juice and ceviche, I headed to Venice Beach with blazing eyes and a devil grin.
Venice is a very different scene from what I am used to and not only did I look like a mysterious rouge, I felt like one and wanted to cause mischief.
First thing I did was roll into a restaurant that was full of people. On my way to the bar, I spotted a group of five girls eating. They eyed me with curiosity, that eye drew me over and I said “Hello ladies, may I join?”
They laughed and cooed as I sat down with a smirk.
This act in itself summoned up even more self-confidence.
The girls were nearing the end of their meals and I asked if their food was good while eyeing it all.
They all let me try bites of their delicious meals and one filled a glass of wine for me.
I told them about what its like meeting girls in NYC, made fun of them for online dating, ordered chocolate and coffee for dessert, excused myself after thanking them for the food and drink and was off.
Now I felt I could get away with anything, the new city was a movie set, I was ready to make some action, and girls were enjoying the show.
The next bar I went in to I stared into every girls eyes and communicated exactly what I was there for.
I didn’t approach the two cutest ones first…I wanted show them something first.
After getting a beer, I made my way over to the laughter of two decent looking ladies. They were having a great time together and I told them “ladies, I like fun, let’s have fun” and they made room for me to sit.
They were both married so I told them I wasn’t going to waste my time, but they could help me out. They asked how. I said that I was in Los Angeles to make stories happen and make love to the local population of single girls.
We chatted for a bit about what the best way to meet girls was and after a bit I told them to get up and come with me for a minute.
We walked arm in arm over to the two hotties I had spotted when I walked in (they witnessed me with the others, believe me, I had my eye on them) and they introduced me and told the two girls that I was looking to meet some girls.
The two hot girls said yes when I asked to join and I sat down between them.
These girls were very very attractive. Aspiring actresses with faces fit for TV. I told them this and asked if guys were intimidated by them.
We talked about the perils of online dating and how no one does anything real anymore.
After some shots, we left, bought a six pack of beer and I took them down to the beach for ‘something real’. I told them the story about how the first time I got a boner, I went up to my father and told him “my pee-pee is frozen” and my father just laughed his ass off. (he loves telling that story)
Then I told the girls that my cock was feeling a little cold.
The darker one put her hand down my pants first and the blonde quickly followed as I removed my jacket and put it over them.
The whole time I was being serviced, I kept making jokes about how people from Scandinavia love threesomes and view it as normal sex (blonde was Norweigian).
They pumped me dry and we laughed when I told them my pure desert cum was full of spiritual energy.
As we were laying there laughing, a beach cruiser full of cops shined their lights on us and I scrambled to pull up my pants as they came over.
They told us we had to leave and took the beer with them.
I apologized for breaking the rules of the beach and explained that it was my first night in Venice and didn’t know the laws yet.
The cops laughed and told me to be careful.
After running around the skatepark with the girls, I sent them on their way and told them I don’t do numbers, they get in the way of my adventures. They actually liked that response and understood.
The night wasn’t over yet…Venice Beach was still stimulating.
There is a permanent cloud of marijuana over Venice and it was smelling really good.
I found some vagrants by the skatepark who were taking huge hits out of a long pipe and asked them if California weed was different than New York weed. They offered and I took three of the biggest hits of my life.
I coughed so hard that I had to lay down in the sand and just stayed like that until my head stopped spinning.
A vagrant came over and asked if I was okay.
“I’m great” I said with a big smile.
Now it was time to sleep.
The energy is still alive and well and I know that people can sense it. It helps that my style makes me stand out from most of the people here.
I just had a conversation with a guy who conditioned my desert-dried shoes and he said I definitely did not look like someone from around here. We chatted about the differences in culture around the United States and how its impossible to put a label on what makes an American.
Thats something to consider, every time you travel, try to pull a little bit of culture with you. Los Angeles is teaching me how obsessed people are with entertainment. People will pay incredible amounts of money to be entertained. I’ve never seen it so apparent than out here. Time to capitalize on that. heh
This ebb and flow of energy is a powerful force and somewhat addicting. I’m glad to be on full flow right now and can’t wait to keep it up. It’s a freeing feeling that brings a peace of mind, clarity of thought, and a desire for mischief.
Now that this freedom that travel brings has been fully unleashed, its time to go make the most of it.
I’m going to try something new tonight.
You should as well.
